Job Title: Experienced HLTA / SEN Teaching Assistant (Full-Time, Short-Term Placement)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HLTA or SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Northampton. This is a full-time, short-term role supporting children with higher needs, providing tailored learning support and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive both academically and emotionally.
You’ll work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to deliver individualised interventions, manage classroom support, and promote positive behaviour and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
*
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with higher or complex needs.
*
Assist in the planning and delivery of differentiated lessons and targeted interventions.
*
Support emotional regulation and social development in line with EHCP targets.
*
Liaise with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure consistent support.
*
Lead learning activities and cover lessons when required (HLTA level).
Requirements
*
Previous experience working as an HLTA or SEN TA with children with additional needs.
*
Strong understanding of autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, and SEMH.
*
Confident in managing challenging behaviour and using de-escalation techniques.
*
Relevant qualification (HLTA status, Level 3 TA, or equivalent).
*
Enhanced DBS check (on the update service preferred).
