Are you a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity in a supportive Birmingham primary school?
We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive school in Kings Heath, Birmingham. We are currently recruiting for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs across the school, starting in September 2025.

About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support children with a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASC), speech and language difficulties, ADHD, and learning delays.
This role may involve:

1:1 support for a child with an EHCP
*
Small group interventions
*
In-class support to promote engagement and access to learning
Key Responsibilities
*
Support the learning and development of pupils with SEN
*
Deliver individualised strategies and interventions as directed by the teacher or SENCO
*
Encourage pupils’ social and emotional development through positive relationships
*
Assist with classroom organisation, behaviour management, and learning resources
*
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, outside agencies, and parents/carers
*
Provide feedback on pupil progress and any concerns
*
Support pupils with personal care, where necessary (training provided)
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children in a UK school or educational setting – Essential
- Experience supporting children with SEN – Highly desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
