Are you a Psychology graduate looking to make a difference in the lives of young people? A specialist SEN school in LS9, Leeds is looking for an enthusiastic and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11–16 with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges (SEMH).
This is an ideal role for someone passionate about inclusive education, behaviour support, and child development. If you're planning a future career in educational psychology, therapy, or SEN teaching, this full-time position offers the perfect hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support to students in KS3 & KS4
*
Assist students with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and learning needs
*
Work closely with teaching staff and SENCOs to adapt lesson plans
*
Create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
*
Apply psychological insight to classroom behaviour and engagement
What We’re Looking For

A degree in Psychology (or similar subject)

A passion for supporting young people with additional needs
*
Patience, empathy, and emotional resilience
*
Experience in schools, care settings, or youth work is desirable
*
A commitment to full-time work, Monday to Friday during term time
