SEN Teacher Assistant - Chiswick Full-Time - Primary and Secondary - Supportive MLD School
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEN Teacher Assistant to join our friendly and forward-thinking Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) school in Chiswick. This is a full-time, term-time position supporting students across both primary and secondary phases.
As a SEN Teacher Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of additional learning needs, including moderate learning difficulties, communication challenges, and social, emotional or behavioural needs.
Working alongside teachers and other support staff, you will help create a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment. You will be involved in both classroom-based and individual support, helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop independence.
SEN Teacher Assistant Responsibilities:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support for students with MLD and other additional needs
Assisting teachers with the preparation and delivery of differentiated learning activities
Encouraging positive relationships and emotional well-being among students
Supporting communication and social interaction within the classroom
Promoting independence and resilience through structured support and encouragement
Helping to maintain a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to meet each pupil's individual needsThis is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will have the opportunity to see students grow in confidence and make progress both academically and personally.

SEN Teacher Assistant Attributes:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs. You do not need to have extensive experience to apply - what matters most is your attitude, empathy, and willingness to learn.

Able to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and families
A good communicator with a calm and flexible approach
Eager to develop your skills through ongoing training and mentoring
Committed to supporting the school's ethos of inclusion, respect, and high aspirations for allExperience working with students with MLD, autism, speech and language needs, or emotional and behavioural difficulties is desirable but not essential, training and guidance will be provided.
This school is located only a 10 minute walk from the nearest station in Chiswick, making for an easy commute to and from work.
