Are you an enthusiastic and compassionate Teacher looking to make a real difference in a specialist setting? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEMH Class Teacher to join a supportive and welcoming school in Derby City, working with pupils who have a range of special educational needs and social and emotional mental health.

The school caters for children with a variety of needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. As a SEMH Class Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering a tailored and inclusive curriculum that meets the individual needs of each learner.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons, creating a structured and supportive classroom environment, and working closely with teaching assistants and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils. Building strong relationships and maintaining a calm, consistent approach will be key to your success in this role.

Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering personalised lessons to meet a range of SEND needs
Creating a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
Managing behaviour with a consistent and supportive approach
Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external agencies
Monitoring and assessing student progress, adapting strategies as needed
We are looking for candidates who:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Have experience working with SEND pupils (desirable but not essential)
Are patient, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education
Have strong communication and classroom management skills
