Are you a fully qualified Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher looking for a new opportunity in the new academic year? We are seeking a nurturing, patient, and innovative educator to join our specialist SEN school in Portsmouth from September 2025. The school caters for students with a wide range of learning difficulties, including moderate to severe learning needs, autism spectrum conditions, speech and language challenges, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH). The Role: As an SEN Teacher, you will: Deliver tailored, inclusive, and engaging lessons to meet the individual learning styles and abilities of each pupil. Develop and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs)that promote measurable progress across cognitive, social, and emotional development. Use a nurturing and therapeutic approach to behaviour management, fostering a safe, supportive, and calm classroom environment. Work closely with a team of skilled teaching assistants, therapists, and multi-agency professionals to provide holistic support to each learner. Monitor and assess pupil progress regularly, using this data to adapt teaching strategies and inform planning. Build strong, respectful relationships with parents and carers to promote continuity of learning between home and school. Contribute to whole-school development and participate in ongoing CPD and training opportunities. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)or equivalent teaching qualification. Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, preferably in a specialist setting. Strong understanding of differentiated teaching and learning approaches. Excellent knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding procedures. Ability to design and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to a wide range of needs and abilities. High levels of patience, empathy, and resilience. Team player with a commitment to collaborative practice and a positive, proactive attitude.
