Are you a compassionate and experienced SEN Teacher committed to making a difference in young people’s lives? A nurturing and well-respected secondary school in Basingstoke is seeking a full-time SEN Teacher for a September 2025 start. This is a permanent role, ideal for teachers with SEN experience or those who are passionate about inclusive education. Staff work in close partnership with families, therapists, and external agencies. About the SEN Department The SEN department provides tailored, high-quality support for students with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH. The team includes dedicated LSAs, SENCOs, and intervention specialists. The curriculum is differentiated, with personalised learning plans, nurture groups, and small-group teaching. About the Role As a SEN Teacher, your responsibilities will include: • Delivering adapted lessons to meet EHCP targets and specific needs. • Supporting both academic and personal development of learners. • Collaborating with parents, LSAs, and therapists. • Monitoring and tracking progress through individual learning plans. • Using creative, multi-sensory approaches to engage learners. • Building trust and rapport with students to boost confidence and self-esteem. • Contributing to whole-school SEN strategy and development. Experience and Qualifications • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification • Experience working with SEN students in mainstream or specialist settings • A patient, nurturing, and creative approach • Understanding of inclusive pedagogy and behaviour support strategies • Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams Salary This SEN Teacher position is paid to scale – MPS/UPS, plus possible SEN allowance depending on experience.
