About the role
Are you passionate about creating inclusive, supportive learning environments that allow every child to thrive? Teach Now is seeking a dedicated SEN teacher to join a unique and vibrant primary school in Islington for a part-time role (3 days per week) starting this September.
About the school
This is no ordinary school. Serving children from 6 months to 11 years, the setting is a culturally rich, community-led school that champions inclusivity, diversity, and child-centred decision making. Every element of the school’s ethos is focused on supporting individual progress and nurturing each pupil’s potential – particularly those with additional needs.
Key responsibilities
As the SEN teacher within the school's specialist SEND provision, you will take the lead in supporting a small group of 8–9 children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). You will:
• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions tailored to EHCP targets
• Support the development of life skills and social communication
• Lead and collaborate with a dedicated team of 2 learning support assistants (LSAs)
• Work closely with SENCOs, parents, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for every child
Whether you're a qualified teacher or an experienced unqualified specialist with a strong background in SEND and alternative provision, your skills and understanding will be highly valued in this role.
What makes this opportunity stand out?
• A supportive, values-driven school culture that celebrates diversity
• Autonomy and creativity in planning tailored lessons
• Opportunity to make a tangible impact in the lives of children with complex needs
• Located in vibrant Islington, with excellent transport links and local amenities
