SEN Teacher – Full-Time, Permanent

The Role:
A fantastic opportunity has opened up for a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a highly respected specialist school in Watford this September. This full-time, permanent position is perfect for an experienced and passionate educator who is committed to supporting children and young people with autism and related needs such as speech, language, and sensory challenges, as well as behaviour regulation difficulties.
You’ll be working in a calm, structured setting with small class sizes and strong staff-to-student ratios, alongside a supportive, multidisciplinary team. The school places a strong emphasis on creating individualised learning experiences that empower students to succeed.
Key Duties:
Plan and deliver personalised lessons to pupils with complex needs, primarily autism
Establish predictable routines and incorporate visual aids to support learning and communication
Collaborate closely with TAs, therapists, and families to ensure cohesive, wraparound support
Monitor and report progress in line with EHCP outcomes and personalised targets
Apply evidence-based strategies to support emotional regulation and promote independence
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment
Participate in ongoing CPD and contribute to the wider development of the school
About You:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
Experience working with children or young people with SEN, ideally in specialist or alternative provisions
Strong understanding of autism and associated needs
Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach to teaching
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service, or willingness to apply
