SEN Teacher - EYFS
Special Educational Needs Teacher required for a leading and well run SEN school on the outskirts of Hertford - Supporting pupils in EYFS this is a full time, temp to permanent post paying MPS/UPS from day 1 - Hertford, Hertfordshire - £169 to £258.83 p/day
Tradewind are looking for a SEN Teacher to join a specialist school from September and support the pupils in their EYFS stage. The school is historically a well run Academy school with a great reputation locally for supporting pupils with varying levels of ASD, over time HCC has asked them to extend their expertise and take a wider cohort of pupils into their holistic and well run school. In the midst of a New redevelopment (expected to be completed in October 2026) and under the New Headteacher (December 2025) who's a wealth of experience in staff management the school are looking for a teacher to support children in their EYFS classes.
Class sizes are between 10-15 and are generously staffed with multiple support members to assist and work with pupils on 1:1 and smaller group basis. Learning follows the P scales used in primary and a teacher with knowledge of EY's and Phonics. This is a temporary to permanent post starting in September and paid to MPS / UPS or UQ scale from day one.
Responsibilities:
Plan, deliver and evaluate effective teaching and learning for students
Implement and develop personalised learning plans for students
Monitor and record progress, providing regular feedback to parents and carers
Work collaboratively with the school's leadership team, TA's and and external professionals to provide a holistic approach to students' education and care
Provide support and guidance to teaching assistants and other support staff in the delivery of teaching and learning activities
Ensure compliance with school policies, procedures and statutory requirements, particularly in relation to safeguarding and child protection
Person Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status with experience of teaching either primary or SEN pupils, applications from those from a Nursery setting are also considered
Good understanding of SEN needs and knowledge of early years phonics
Proven track record of delivering high quality, effective and engaging lessons for students with additional needs
Ability to develop and implement personalised learning plans for students with Autism
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
A patient, calm and positive approach to teaching and supporting students with additional needs
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
