A supportive and inclusive school in Hull is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join their team. Whether you’re a qualified teacher on the M1 to UPS3 pay scale or an experienced unqualified practitioner looking to step into teaching, your application will be considered. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire and support learners with a range of additional needs in a nurturing, pupil-centred environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored lessons to pupils with a range of SEN, adapting the curriculum to meet individual needs.
Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
Implement EHCP targets and collaborate closely with TAs, therapists, and parents.
Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining clear and supportive communication with the wider team.
Use creative, flexible approaches to teaching that promote student engagement and independence.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant teaching experience in an SEN setting – essential
A genuine passion for working with students with additional needs
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
Ability to differentiate learning for a range of complex needs, including ASD, MLD, SLD, or SEMH
Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
