A forward-thinking SEN School in South East London is seeking a dynamic and experienced Primary SEN Teacher to join their team this September. This full-time role is part of a long-term to permanent pathway, offering an exciting opportunity to make meaningful impact in a school that prioritises independence, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing.

* Specialises in supporting pupils with Complex Needs, including Autism and Speech & Language challenges
* Strong and collaborative Senior Leadership Team
* Based in a well-resourced South East London location
The Class & Learning Environment
* KS2 class (Year 5 & Year 6) with 9 pupils
* Supported by 2 Teaching Assistants
* Learners working at P Levels, below age-related expectations
* Needs include behaviour challenges, Autism, and communication difficulties
* Class Teacher holds pastoral responsibility for learners and contributes to EHCP delivery
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
* Foster a positive, supportive classroom culture
* Apply effective behaviour management strategies
* Collaborate with families, therapists, and the wider school team
* Track and assess pupil progress
* Adapt curriculum using specialist approaches, such as Makaton and PECS
* Incorporate physical activity and wellbeing into teaching
* Participate in ongoing CPD and team learning
Essential Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Proven experience teaching in UK Primary settings
* Confident communicator with strong classroom presence
* SEN experience (Autism, Speech & Language) preferred
* Familiarity with Makaton, PECS, or ABA approaches is a bonus
