The Role:
As a Class Teacher, you will:
Lead a nurturing class team to support pupils' individual learning needs.
Deliver a tailored curriculum that promotes academic progress, social communication, and emotional regulation.
Foster confidence, independence, and lifelong skills in neurodiverse learners.
Work within a multidisciplinary team, including Speech & Language and Occupational Therapists.
Contribute to a low-arousal, autism-friendly environment where wellbeing is prioritised.
We’re Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or working towards)
Experience working with autistic pupils (SEND experience highly desirable)
Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and adaptive teaching strategies
A passion for supporting neurodiverse children and young people
Understanding of autism-specific approaches (e.g., SCERTS, TEACCH, Zones of Regulation)
High expectations for pupil progress and a commitment to inclusion
Excellent communication, resilience, and teamwork skills
Desirable (but not essential):
Experience in a special school or specialist provision
Ability to support emotional regulation and complex behaviours with empathy
Experience in mentoring or leading staff
