This is a specialist SEN school that provides a nurturing and structured environment for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties. The school places a strong focus on communication, life skills, and personalised learning, ensuring that each child receives the support they need to thrive both academically and socially.
About the role:
The SEN Class Teacher will be responsible for a class of 7 pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to a wide range of abilities, supported by teaching assistants. The role involves creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment, implementing EHCP targets, and working closely with therapists, families, and colleagues. This is a fixed term role with the possibility to be extended.
We're looking for a dedicated candidate to:
Plan and deliver creative and differentiated lessons for pupils with SLD
Lead and manage support staff effectively in class
Support pupils' communication, social, and independence skills
Monitor progress and adapt teaching to individual needs
Collaborate with parents and multi-agency professionalsRequirements - The ideal candidate would have:
QTS with experience teaching pupils with SEN, ideally Severe Learning Difficulties
Knowledge of strategies and approaches for supporting complex needs
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
A patient, resilient, and creative approach to teaching
