Job Description

Role: SEN Primary Teacher  Location: Burgess Hill  Contract: Part-Time  Start Date: September 2026  Daily Rate: £174.71 – £240.71 (dependent on experience)  Supply Desk is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive specialist provision in Burgess Hill, who are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Primary Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis from September 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to support primary-aged pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence, and make positive academic, social, and emotional progress within a structured and nurturing environment.  About the Role  As an SEN Primary Teacher, you will deliver engaging, creative, and highly differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils with SEND. You will work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and wider professionals to create a safe, calm, and inclusive classroom environment where pupils can develop confidence, independence, communication, and a love of learning.  Key Responsibilities  Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons for primary-aged pupils with SEND  Support pupils with a range of needs, including ASC, SEMH, MLD, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs  Develop and adapt learning activities in line with EHCP targets and individual support plans  Create a calm, nurturing, structured, and inclusive classroom environment  Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress effectively  Use positive behaviour support strategies tailored to individual needs  Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, families, and external professionals  Promote pupil independence, confidence, communication, emotional regulation, and social development  Candidate Profile  Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent  Experience teaching within a primary school or specialist SEND provision  Strong understanding of SEND, differentiation, and inclusive classroom practice  Calm, patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching and behaviour support  Excellent communication and teamwork skills  Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, families, and wider professionals  A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to achieve their potential  Requirements  UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent  Experience working with pupils with SEND within a school or specialist provision  Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)  Two professional teaching references  Eligibility to work in the UK  Why Register With Us?  Competitive daily rates, paid weekly  Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant  Access to free CPD and safeguarding training  Part-time and long-term opportunities within specialist provisions  £100 referral bonus for recommending successful candidates (T&Cs apply)  Apply Today!  Call:   Or click ‘Apply Now’ to submit your application  Supply Desk is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
