Job Description
Prospero Teaching are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Waterlooville that provides a nurturing environment for pupils with autism, speech and language difficulties, and social communication needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified SEN teacher who is confident using Makaton, PECs, and other visual communication tools. Experience in SEN settings, particularly in Early Years or Key Stage 1, is highly desirable.
You'll be joining a team working with a small Year 1/2 class, where a patient and creative approach can make a real difference.
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Duration: 1 / 2 terms (flexible)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 08:00 - 16:00 (may vary slightly)
Year Group: Year 1/2
Location: Waterlooville
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
What we're looking for:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience supporting children with autism and communication needs
Proficiency with visual aids such as Makaton and PECs
A compassionate, calm and adaptable teaching style
Candidate Requirements:
Eligibility to work in the UK.
Enhanced DBS check registered on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Two recent professional references in child-related roles.
