A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Chester is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 pupil with Autism and moderate behavioural needs. This is a full-time role, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the child receives consistent, high-quality support tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 in-class and out-of-class support to a pupil with autism and moderate behaviour challenges.
Implement behaviour support strategies in line with the pupil's EHCP and individual behaviour plan.
Assist with the development of social, emotional, and communication skills.
Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
Liaise regularly with the SENCO, class teacher, and parents/carers to monitor progress and adjust support strategies.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have previous experience supporting children with autism and/or behavioural difficulties.
Possess strong behaviour management
Be calm under pressure, consistent, and empathetic in their approach.
Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Hold relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach training - desirable but not essential).
