We are supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Enfield as they look to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a full-time role, offering the opportunity to work closely with a pupil who has additional needs and thrives with consistent, individualised support.
You’ll be joining a staff team that values collaboration, communication, and care—and you’ll play a vital role in helping one young learner access the full benefits of school life.
About the role:
You will be working one-to-one with a pupil who presents with special educational needs, including challenges around emotional regulation and social interaction. The pupil benefits from clear routines, sensory-friendly environments, and a calm, confident adult who can support both learning and wellbeing.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing tailored support during lessons to help the pupil engage with learning
Assisting with emotional and behavioural regulation strategies
Supporting transitions and promoting independence across the school day
Liaising with the SENCO and external specialists to ensure consistent and effective provision
Contributing to the development of a structured and supportive classroom environment
Who we’re looking for:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a school, care or community setting
A calm, empathetic approach and excellent communication skills
Confidence in working with pupils who may display anxiety or behaviour that challenges
A proactive, team-oriented attitude and willingness to follow consistent strategies
Additional training (e.g. Thrive, Team Teach) is an advantage—but if you’re not yet trained, we can help!
