We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Early Years Support Assistant to join a fully inclusive mainstream primary school located in Erdington. The school is committed to meeting the needs of all pupils and makes reasonable adjustments to support every child's development.
The dedicated individual will provide close support to pupils with verbal communication needs, including those who use echolalia. You will play a vital role in helping children progress in their learning and development, both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to children
• Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to teaching staff
• Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
• Demonstrate a proactive and compassionate approach to support
Requirements:
• Proven experience working with SEND children is essential
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
• Hourly rate: From £13.96 per hour
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Full-time position, with the potential for long-term or permanent employment
This role officially begins in September; however, we would ideally like the successful candidate to start before the end of the academic year.
