SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 5 & 6 (Sensory Autism Focus)
Location: Enfield
Start Date: November 2025
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Remedy Education are proud to be working alongside a welcoming and inclusive SEN school in Enfield who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team this November.
This role is based within a Year 5 and 6 class, supporting pupils with sensory autism and lower cognitive abilities. The group is small, closely supported, and full of personality - they need someone who can bring calm, creativity, and consistency to their day.
The right person will understand that progress doesn't always look like a worksheet being finished. It might be a shared smile, a new sound, or a moment of calm after a challenge. You'll be part of a team that values those small but powerful steps forward.
Your role will include:
Working closely with the class teacher to support pupils' individual needs and routines
Helping to create engaging, sensory-based learning experiences
Supporting communication, interaction, and emotional regulation throughout the school day
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience (or a genuine passion) for working with children with autism or complex needs
Brings patience, empathy, and reliability to everything they do
Can stay calm under pressure and see potential in every child
Is willing to learn and be part of a close-knit, supportive team
In return, you'll receive:
A long-term position in a school that truly values its staff and pupils
Guidance and ongoing support from Remedy Education and the school team
Opportunities for professional growth and further training in SEN support
The chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of incredible young people
If you're looking for a role that's meaningful, hands-on, and genuinely rewarding, we'd love to hear from you.
