Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary (Complex Needs)
Area: Dartford, Kent
Start Date: ASAP or after half term
Contract Type: Full-time, Temp to Perm
Salary: GBP (Apply online only) per day (depending on experience)
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Brief description:
An outstanding specialist primary school in the Dartford area is seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about making a positive impact on children's education and well-being.
About the role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and therapists to deliver individualised support and learning plans. You will help pupils to access learning, develop communication and life skills, and promote independence in a caring and structured environment.
We're looking for a dedicated candidate to:
Support pupils with severe and complex learning needs in a nurturing and positive way
Assist with classroom activities, therapy sessions, and personal care where required
Use communication aids and strategies to engage pupils effectively
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a safe, stimulating environment
Promote inclusion, positive behaviour, and emotional well being for all pupilsRequirements - The ideal candidate would have:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, particularly complex needs or autism
A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
Relevant training or qualifications in SEN support (desirable but not essential)Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
