KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time | Personal Care | Birmingham
Location: Birmingham
Contract: Full-Time | Temporary | Ongoing
Start Date: January 2026 (or sooner)

APT Education is working in partnership with a warm and inclusive primary school in Birmingham to recruit a compassionate and committed KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time role starting January 2026 or earlier.
This rewarding position involves supporting a Key Stage 1 pupil with Autism (ASC) who requires personal care and tailored learning support. The school is known for its nurturing ethos and strong commitment to inclusive education.
🧠 Role Overview:
* Provide 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with ASC, including personal care and emotional regulation
* Assist with daily routines, transitions, and structured learning activities
* Implement personalised strategies to support communication, engagement, and wellbeing
* Work closely with class teachers, SENCO, and external professionals
* Promote independence, dignity, and a positive learning experience
✅ Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with children with Autism and/or additional needs
* Comfortable providing personal care in a respectful and professional manner
* Calm, patient, and empathetic approach to support
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A valid Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
