SEN Teaching Assistant - ASD Support (Early Years / KS1)
Haringey | ASAP Start | £105-£120 per day | Long-Term
We are recruiting two SEN Teaching Assistants for a welcoming primary school in Haringey, supporting pupils in Reception and Year 1, both diagnosed with Autism (ASD). These pupils benefit from a structured, calm and consistent approach, and require 1:1 support to access learning, regulate emotions and build communication and social skills.
About the Role
You will support pupils who require:
Visual timetables and predictable routines
Speech and language development and modelling language
Sensory strategies and movement breaks
Support with emotional regulation and transitions
Structured play and social interaction support
Gentle encouragement to build independence and classroom engagement
Both roles involve working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow personalised strategies and EHCP targets.
Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support for pupils with ASD
Implement visual, sensory and communication strategies
Support attention, engagement and social development
Follow structured routines and individual learning plans
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
