SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support - KS1, ASD)
Location: Islington
Start Date: Immediate / Ongoing
Contract: Full-time, long-term

Tradewind Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming two-form entry primary school in Islington. This role involves providing 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with Autism (ASD), helping them to access learning, build social skills, and thrive in a structured and nurturing environment.
The Role
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement tailored learning strategies
Support the pupil's emotional, social, and academic development
Use visual aids, structured routines, and communication tools to aid understanding
Promote independence and positive behaviour within the classroom
Communicate effectively with staff and parents to ensure consistent support
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of experience supporting children with SEN, ideally Autism (ASD)
Strong understanding of Early Years or KS1 learning and development
Calm, patient, and proactive approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
