SEN Teaching Assistant (Team Teach Qualified) - Sheffield Are you an experienced and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant with Team Teach certification looking for flexible, ongoing work in Sheffield? Academics are working with a range of specialist SEN schools across the area who are seeking confident and skilled support staff - with opportunities available for temporary roles to become permanent for the right candidate. Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (Team Teach Qualified) Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing positions (with potential for permanent opportunities) Pay: £88.94 - £100 per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees) Start Date: ASAP or from a start date that suits you About the Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant in one of our Sheffield specialist settings, you will support pupils with needs such as autism, SEMH, communication difficulties, ADHD, sensory differences, and more. Your Team Teach qualification will enable you to safely and effectively support pupils who may display challenging behaviours or require assistance with emotional regulation. You will work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to help pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop important social and emotional skills. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, proactive, and passionate about working within SEN education. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN * Use Team Teach approaches to ensure pupil and staff safety when required * Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies * Adapt tasks and activities to meet individual pupil needs * Work collaboratively with teachers and specialist staff * Contribute to a calm, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment * Follow EHCP targets, behaviour plans, and safeguarding procedures Candidate Requirements ✔ Team Teach qualification - essential ✔ Experience supporting children or young people with SEN ✔ Confidence working with challenging behaviours and complex needs ✔ Strong communication, patience, and resilience ✔ Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff ✔ Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) What Academics Offer Flexible and ongoing SEN Teaching Assistant roles across Sheffield * Competitive daily pay between £88.94 - £100 * Opportunities for both long-term and permanent placements within specialist settings * Ongoing support from our experienced SEN consultants * Immediate start, or a start date of your choice * Temp to perm opportunities if you're seeking a permanent role * Refer a friend scheme - earn up to £125 in Love2Shop vouchersIf you are a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a valid Team Teach qualification and a passion for supporting children with additional needs, we would love to hear from you.
