Teaching Assistant - S2 Sheffield
Part-Time (Mornings Only)
Start Date: 5th January 2026 - June 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 12:00pm
Pay: £50-£60 per day (depending on experience)
Career Teachers are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil on a 1:1 basis with SEN needs. This role is ideal for someone with experience working with children who can present challenging behaviour and who is passionate about making a positive impact.
Job Description
You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support for a pupil in Year 4. The role involves helping the child access learning, manage behaviour, and develop social and emotional skills in a safe and structured environment.
Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Assist with classroom activities, ensuring the pupil can engage with learning tasks.
Implement behaviour management strategies and maintain a positive learning environment.
Support the pupil's social and emotional development.
Liaise with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support as needed.
Promote inclusion and independence within the classroom setting.
Requirements
Previous experience working with children, ideally with SEN or challenging behaviour.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude.
Ability to work collaboratively with school staff.
