SEN Teaching Assistant (Team Teach Qualified) - Doncaster
Are you a compassionate and confident SEN Teaching Assistant with a valid Team Teach qualification, looking for flexible and rewarding work across Doncaster? Academics are working closely with a number of specialist SEN schools in the Doncaster area who require skilled support staff to work with pupils with a wide range of additional needs. These temporary, ongoing roles also have the potential to lead to long-term or permanent opportunities for the right candidates.

Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing positions
Pay: £88.94 - £100 per day (paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees)
Start Date: ASAP or from a start date that suits you
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant working across Doncaster specialist schools, you will support pupils with needs such as autism, SEMH, ADHD, communication difficulties, sensory differences, and other complex learning needs.
Your Team Teach accreditation will be essential when supporting pupils who may present with challenging behaviour, emotional regulation difficulties, or heightened sensory needs. You will help to maintain a safe learning environment, promote independence, and support pupils through positive behaviour management techniques.
You will work alongside teachers, SENCOs, behaviour teams, and therapists to help pupils access learning, develop key life skills, and build confidence. This is an ideal role for someone who is resilient, nurturing, and passionate about making a real difference within SEN education.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN
* Use Team Teach strategies confidently to ensure pupil and staff safety
* Support emotional regulation and implement positive behaviour approaches
* Help adapt learning tasks to meet individual needs
* Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and specialist staff
* Follow behaviour plans, EHCP targets, and safeguarding proceduresCandidate Requirements
✔ Team Teach qualification (essential)
✔ Experience supporting pupils with SEN
✔ Confidence working with challenging behaviours
✔ Patient, resilient, and able to build strong relationships
✔ Reliable, proactive, and committed to supporting pupil progress
✔ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
