SEND Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Primary School (Brent)

Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Full-time, Term-time only (8:00am–4:00pm)
Pay: £90–£110 per day

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Brent is seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to support children across their SEND provision. This full-time position involves working both 1:1 and with small groups, primarily supporting pupils with autism. The school is looking for someone with previous experience in similar roles who can offer patience, consistency, and a nurturing approach.

About the Role

  * 

    Supporting pupils across SEND provision

  * 

    Working 1:1 and in small groups with children with autism

  * 

    Assisting communication, social development, and emotional regulation

  * 

    Adapting activities to help pupils access learning

  * 

    Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO

  * 

    Following SEND support plans and contributing to pupil progress

    Experience supporting children with ASD or similar needs

  * 

    Calm, patient, and understanding

  * 

    Confident using strategies to promote engagement

  * 

    Able to build positive, trusting relationships

  * 

    Proactive and committed to inclusive practice

Requirements

    Experience in similar school or SEND roles

  * 

    Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one

  * 

    Passion for supporting children with additional needs
