SEN Teaching Assistant - 1:1 Support (Reception Class)

Salary: £90-£95 per day (PAYE)

Tradewind Recruitment is pleased to be working with a warm and welcoming Catholic Primary School in Waltham Forest, who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their reception class team from January 2026. This full-time role involves providing 1-1 support for two children with EHCPs during the mornings, and also supporting the whole class as for the afternoons.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1-1 support each morning for two Reception children with EHCPs
Follow tailored support plans and work closely with the class teacher and SENCo
Use supportive and engaging strategies to help children feel confident and ready to learn
Encourage positive behaviour, communication, and interaction
Assist with early years learning activities and classroom routines

Experience supporting children with Autism (desirable)
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Confidence working within an early years setting
Ability to build strong relationships with young learners
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
