Pay: £90 – £100 per day (DOE)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Weekly PAYE Pay – No Umbrella Companies

About the Opportunity

Astro Education is currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support schools in Congleton and the surrounding Cheshire area.

We are working closely with a number of primary and secondary schools that require additional support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). These roles may involve working 1:1 with a pupil, supporting small groups, or assisting the class teacher in creating an inclusive learning environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and helping them reach their full potential.

We welcome applications from candidates with previous SEN experience, as well as those from related backgrounds such as care work, youth work, support work, sports coaching or psychology graduates looking to gain experience within education.

Locations We Cover

Astro Education works with a wide network of schools across Cheshire East and surrounding areas, including:

Congleton, Macclesfield, Holmes Chapel, Sandbach, Alsager, Crewe, Nantwich, Winsford, Middlewich and Northwich.

Many of the schools we work with are within 20–30 minutes of Congleton, making them easily accessible for candidates living in nearby towns.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs

  * 

    Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning support

  * 

    Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs

  * 

    Help create a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment

  * 

    Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures

Requirements

  * 

    Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting

  * 

    A patient, compassionate and adaptable approach

  * 

    Strong communication and teamwork skills

  * 

    A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs

  * 

    Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  * 

    Eligibility to work in the UK
