A supportive and inclusive school in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and helping them reach their full potential.
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff and the SEN department to support pupils with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD and learning difficulties. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils engage positively with their learning.
Key Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:
Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom.
Implementing individual education plans and targeted interventions.
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
Assisting with lesson preparation and adapting resources where required.
Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
The Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant Will:
Have previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.
Be patient, nurturing and adaptable in approach.
Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
Be confident supporting pupils with varying needs and abilities.
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
Have a fully checkable work history.
