Location: Birmingham

Salary: £90 - £110 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a fantastic SEND school in Birmingham, supporting primary-aged pupils with a range of additional learning needs. The school provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to develop confidence, independence and essential life skills through personalised support and engaging learning opportunities.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis from September. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with pupils with a variety of additional needs, including Autism / ASD, Moderate Learning Difficulties / MLD, Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD and Speech and Language needs. You will provide both 1:1 and small group support, working alongside the class teacher to promote positive behaviour, engagement and individual progress.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND

• A genuine passion for helping pupils with additional needs succeed

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• A patient, nurturing and resilient approach

• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

• Team Teach or Makaton training is desirable but not essential
