Job Description

Are you an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant who can bring energy and creativity to every morning?

Do you have experience providing 1:1 support for children who are non-verbal?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Ripley that is looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant. The school offers an inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to participate, develop and celebrate their achievements.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will work part-time across five mornings per week, from 8:30am to 12:30pm, from September 2026 until July 2027. You will provide consistent 1:1 support for a non-verbal Year 5 child, helping them communicate, engage with classroom activities and enjoy positive learning experiences.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
• Experience supporting non-verbal children or pupils with communication needs
• Experience providing effective 1:1 support within a school environment
• The ability to make activities accessible, engaging and enjoyable
• A patient, positive and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
