About the Role:
We are looking to appoint a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and forward-thinking secondary school from September 2025. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone with experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a mainstream secondary school environment.
The successful candidate will have a positive, versatile attitude and a passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning. You will work closely with classroom teachers and the SENCO to provide targeted support that enables students to achieve their full potential, both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with a range of SEN needs including ASD, ADHD, and social/emotional difficulties.
*
Work alongside teachers to deliver differentiated learning and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
*
Support the emotional well-being and personal development of students with additional needs.
*
Encourage independence and promote inclusion within the classroom setting.
*
Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour to relevant staff.
*
Help create a safe, nurturing and respectful learning environment for all students.
Essential Criteria:
*
Proven experience supporting students with SEN in a mainstream secondary school setting.
*
A flexible and solution-focused approach to meeting the diverse needs of learners.
*
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
*
A caring, patient, and resilient nature.
*
Full-time availability during term time.
Desirable Criteria:
*
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEN-specific training).
*
Experience supporting students with EHCPs or behavioural needs.
*
Knowledge of key SEN strategies and interventions.
