Teaching Assistant – Full Time Position

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and inclusive school community from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people succeed, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
The ideal candidate will bring a positive, versatile attitude and have relevant experience supporting students with SEN in a mainstream secondary school setting. You will play a key role in helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and make sustained academic and personal progress.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
*
Assist teaching staff in the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities.
*
Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
*
Encourage student independence, confidence, and social inclusion.
*
Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff to monitor and record progress.
*
Foster a safe, nurturing, and respectful learning environment.
Essential Criteria:
*
Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a secondary school setting.
*
A flexible and proactive approach to meeting the varied needs of students.
*
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with students and staff.
*
Resilience, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
*
Available to work full time during term time.
Desirable Criteria:
*
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEN training).
*
Experience supporting students with ASD, ADHD, or social/emotional needs.
*
Experience supporting students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis.
