About the role
Join a vibrant, inclusive primary school in Newham, renowned for its commitment to nurturing every child’s potential. As an SEN teaching assistant with a focus on challenging behaviours, you’ll work alongside dedicated educators, supporting Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils both 1:1 and in small groups. You’ll play a crucial role in helping students with complex needs develop confidence, resilience, and a love of learning.
Key responsibilities
• Provide tailored 1:1 and group support for pupils with challenging behaviours and SEN
• Implement behaviour management strategies and individual education plans
• Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists
• Track and report on student progress and development

• Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly those exhibiting challenging behaviours
• Adaptability, patience, and a proactive, solution-focused mindset
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Passion for inclusive education and making a lasting impact
• Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable)
