Hays Education are supporting a local school in recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work with them for the rest of the summer term. The role is to start in June and will run till the end of the academic year. The details are as follows:
The school is located in south Birmingham, about a 20-minute drive from the city centre, and describe themselves as a focussed and dedicated school who have young people at the centre of their ethos
The school caters for children at KS3 level with social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH)
The role entails supporting children in class who have SEMH and some other additional SEN
The role is Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 3.30 pm and is on a term time only time sheet basis
The school will support with training to candidates who may not have experience of working in these kinds of settings
The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with challenging behaviour and SEMH
You will be able to demonstrate the key competencies of working with children with SEMH and also de-escalation techniques
