Teaching Assistant – SEN School
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs school in Basingstoke. The school caters to students with moderate learning difficulties and is seeking a committed individual to start in September.
The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with moderate to complex learning difficulties, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and develop the skills they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom. You will assist with delivering tailored educational programmes, providing one-to-one support, and helping to create a positive and inclusive environment. The school prides itself on creating a nurturing atmosphere where students are encouraged to reach their full potential, with a strong focus on both academic and personal development.
You will work closely with the teaching team to support students in achieving their individual learning goals and promoting positive behaviour.
The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs
A calm, patient, and flexible approach
A strong desire to make a positive impact on students’ learning and development
Ability to support students with a variety of needs, including communication and social challenges
Strong teamwork skills and an empathetic nature
A commitment to providing high-quality support for students both academically and socially
Requirements:
A valid Child Workforce Enhanced DBS, registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one at your own cost)
Full eligibility to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
