SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Hailsham
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate / September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long Term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are seeking a caring and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join schools in Hailsham. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students in reaching their full potential, whether you're looking for immediate work or a role starting in September 2025.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work one-to-one or in small groups, supporting students with a range of learning difficulties or social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will play a vital role in helping them engage in learning and develop confidence in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities of a SEN TA:
Provide tailored classroom support to students with SEN.
Assist in delivering differentiated lessons under teacher guidance.
Foster an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Support with managing behaviour positively and consistently.
Help students access the curriculum through personalised strategies.
Monitor progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff and parents.
Assist with personal care and sensory needs where required.
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in school or care settings) as a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA).
Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ in Supporting Teaching and Learning,
A degree in Education or Psychology are desirable.
Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting individual needs.
Ability to work well in a team and take initiative when supporting pupils.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
