Location: Primary ARP Units across Barking and Dagenham
Tradewind Recruitment is looking for experienced and specialist Autism Teaching Assistants to support our network of ARP units in Barking and Dagenham. These are structured, autism-specific learning environments attached to mainstream primary schools and cater to children with diverse and often complex profiles.
Your Role Will Include:
Supporting pupils with autism using structured routines and clear communication strategies
Helping facilitate sensory regulation through appropriate activities or equipment
Working within a multi-disciplinary team, including therapists and outreach professionals
Developing independence and social confidence in each child
Ideal Candidates Will Have:
At least 1 year's experience in an SEN or autism-focused setting
Understanding of autism, sensory processing needs, and related behaviours
Training or experience in PECS, TEACCH, or Makaton (desirable)
A warm, consistent, and reflective approach to support
