Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant Are you passionate about mental health and emotional wellbeing in education? Do you have the skills to support and empower pupils with SEMH needs? Teach Now is working in partnership with a progressive, inclusive primary school in Brent, North West London, to recruit a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant specialising in Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Starting from September 2025, this long-term role offers a unique opportunity to support pupils who need tailored emotional and behavioural support to succeed in school and beyond. About the Role: • Support individual pupils with diagnosed SEMH needs across Key Stages 1 and 2. • Implement positive behaviour strategies and personalised learning interventions. • Collaborate closely with SENCOs, class teachers, and external professionals. • Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment that promotes confidence and independence. About You: • Proven experience working with children with SEMH needs (essential). • Training in areas such as Team Teach, trauma-informed practice, or mental health first aid (desirable). • Empathetic, patient, and passionate about supporting emotional development. • Committed to upholding safeguarding and inclusivity at all times.
