Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Sheffield
Salary: Upto £110 per day
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time
GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) TA to work in a welcoming school in Sheffield. This job involves helping children with special educational needs such as autism, attention difficulties, problems with speech and language, dyslexia, emotional or social struggles, and physical or sensory impairments.
As an SEN TA, you will support students with a range of needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language difficulties, and other learning challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist children with their learning and participation in class activities and school routines.
Support students with their social, emotional, and behavioural development.
Work one-to-one or with small groups of students requiring additional support.
Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans under the guidance of the teacher and SEN team.
Promote independence and positive behaviour in the classroom.
SEN TA Requirements:
Experience working with children with special educational needs in schools or other settings is highly desirable.
Good understanding of SEN conditions such as autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and inclusion principles.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
