SEN Teaching Assistant
About the role
Teach Now is working with a truly exceptional SEN school in Enfield, and we are on the lookout for a compassionate and committed SEN teaching assistant to provide 2:1 support to a Year 6 pupil who has recently joined the school. This pupil is currently on a part-time transition timetable as they prepare for a full-time classroom return – and your support could make all the difference.
This school is a specialist provision for children aged 5–16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and autism spectrum conditions (ASC). The environment is incredibly nurturing, with small class sizes, sensory spaces, therapy animals, and an ethos centred on recognising and celebrating every child’s unique strengths. You’ll be joining a caring and collaborative team, deeply committed to creating safe, consistent, and encouraging spaces where children can thrive emotionally and academically.
In this role, building a trusting relationship with the pupil will be key. You’ll support them both in and out of the classroom, help regulate behaviours, encourage engagement, and implement individualised strategies aligned with EHCP goals.
We’re looking for someone who
• has experience supporting children with SEMH, ASD, or similar additional needs
• can manage challenging behaviour calmly and confidently
• builds positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
• works well within a team but also shows initiative
• is enthusiastic, compassionate, and committed to long-term impact
If you're ready to join an amazing school with an inspiring mission, this could be the perfect opportunity. Apply today and be part of a team that truly changes lives.
