Veritas Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in the Deptford area, which is seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join their internal SEN provision.
The Role:
The successful candidate will support children with a range of special educational needs including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with the SENCO and class teachers to implement EHCP strategies, deliver targeted interventions, and help each pupil reach their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities include:
Providing one-to-one and small group support
Supporting learning activities tailored to individual needs
Managing behaviour and promoting emotional regulation
Building strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
Monitoring progress and contributing to reviews and planning meetingsThe Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a school setting
Confident in supporting pupils with communication needs and challenging behaviour
Patient, calm, and empathetic, with strong interpersonal skills
Familiarity with strategies such as PECS, Makaton, sensory circuits, or Zones of Regulation is an advantage
