Are you a passionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant ready to make a real impact this September?
We’re working with a fantastic SEN school in Hackney that’s looking to welcome a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team for the new academic year. The role involves supporting students with a range of complex needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and associated learning and behavioural challenges.
Whether in the classroom or providing 1:1 and small group support, you’ll play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, engaged, and supported in their learning.
Your Role Will Include -SEN Teaching Assistant
* Providing tailored academic and emotional support to students with SEN
* Supporting class teachers with lesson delivery and differentiation
* Helping to implement and review EHCPs and personalised behaviour plans
* Encouraging independence and emotional regulation in pupils
* Monitoring progress and supporting consistent positive behaviour strategies
What the school is Looking For – SEN Teaching Assistant
* At least 1 year’s experience working with SEN students (school, care, or youth settings)
* Calm, patient, and nurturing with a strong sense of empathy
* Great communication and the ability to build trust with students and staff
* Confident managing behaviour and supporting emotional wellbeing
* A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
* SEN-specific training or qualifications are a bonus but not essential
