Teach Now is working with a warm and inclusive primary school in Barnet, looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from September 2025. This permanent role is perfect for someone who wants to make a lasting impact on the lives of two bright and capable pupils in a Year 6 class.
About the Role
Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? Do you have experience working with KS2 pupils, particularly those with ASD or ADHD? If you're ready for a rewarding and fulfilling role in a supportive school, this opportunity is for you.
• You will provide 1:1 support to two students with ASD and ADHD, both working at age-related expectations but requiring consistent support to stay engaged
• The role involves modelling tasks, breaking down activities, offering repetition and visual cues, and recognising signs of restlessness to implement movement breaks when needed
• You'll be working at the same table with both pupils, ensuring they stay on track with their learning in a structured and nurturing environment
What We’re Looking For
• Previous experience supporting SEN pupils, particularly those with ASD/ADHD
• Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum, ideally Year 6
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt your approach based on the child’s needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
