Job Description
A supportive and inclusive primary school in Camden is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September. This role will involve providing one-to-one support for a child in Key Stage 1 with Down Syndrome, helping them to access the curriculum, develop independence and thrive within a nurturing school environment.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staff to deliver tailored learning activities and provide social, emotional and academic support throughout the school day. The role will involve adapting tasks to meet the child's needs, assisting with communication, and promoting positive interactions with peers.
Key Requirements:
Experience supporting children with special educational needs, either professionally or personally
A patient, compassionate and adaptable approach
Ideally, previous experience within a primary classroom setting
Good knowledge of early literacy and numeracy support, including phonics
Strong IT skills to assist with learning resources and pupil records
A genuine passion for inclusion and helping children to reach their full potential
