Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11-16 in a specialist SEN secondary school in Southwark. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about working with young people with Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, learning difficulties, and those requiring wheelchair assistance.
You will be working in small, well-supported SEN units, providing personalised support to help each student thrive in a safe and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students on a 1:1 or small group basis in and out of the classroom
Assist with personal care and mobility, including wheelchair support (training can be provided)
Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored learning and behaviour plans
Promote independence, confidence, and well-being in students with complex needs
Manage challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner
Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable
A caring, patient, and resilient attitude
Willingness to support students with physical or personal care needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations
