SEN Teaching Assistant
About the School
Are you a compassionate, energetic, and proactive SEN teaching assistant ready to make a difference in a child’s life? Teach Now is looking for a dedicated SEN TA to support a delightful Year 1 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD at a friendly and inclusive primary school in Tottenham, Haringey.
This full-time role begins in September 2025 and offers the opportunity to build a strong, supportive relationship with a child who needs help to access learning and navigate the social world of school. While the child does not exhibit challenging behaviours, they benefit greatly from structured, attentive support and regular active breaks throughout the school day to stay regulated and engaged.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide 1:1 in-class support, helping the pupil remain focused and engaged
• Facilitate small group and individual tasks to reinforce understanding
• Support the child’s social development and peer interactions
• Encourage movement breaks and sensory activities as needed
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to implement the child’s support plan
Ideal Candidate
• Has experience supporting children with ASD and/or ADHD
• Possesses a calm, positive, and encouraging manner
• Is confident managing energy levels and helping children regulate emotions
• Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Can adapt support to meet changing needs throughout the day
