Full-Time | September 2025 Start | Long-Term Opportunity
Pay 95 - £116 daily
Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with complex needs? Do you have skills in PECS, Makaton, and experience working with pre-verbal children?
SANZA Teaching Agency is working with a warm and inclusive primary school in Hackney to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision from September 2025 (full school year). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a highly supportive and structured setting.
🏫 About the Provision:
A Special Educational Needs (SEN) unit attached to a mainstream primary school
Caters to 8 pupils with complex needs including ASD, developmental delays, and communication difficulties
Led by an experienced class teacher, supported by two skilled teaching assistants
Calm, nurturing environment with tailored learning and communication approaches
Excellent leadership, ongoing training, and a strong collaborative ethos
📋 The Role:
Full-time, term-time only position starting September 2025
Working closely with the teacher and another TA to support pupils in their learning and care needs
Using PECS, Makaton, and visual schedules to aid communication and independence
Supporting pre-verbal children through sensory activities, play-based learning, and personalised routines
Contributing to EHCP targets, progress records, and close teamwork with families and specialists
✅ To Be Considered, You Must:
Have previous experience working with children with complex SEND
Be confident using PECS, Makaton, and other AAC strategies
Have experience supporting pre-verbal or minimally verbal learners
Be calm, consistent, patient, and passionate about inclusive education
Be committed to safeguarding and supporting each child holistically
